A RESOLUTION OF 'THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COLTNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
CQNSOLIDATE A SPECIAL MLTNiCIPAL ELECTION TO B�HELD
ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017, WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRIC'F AND
LIBRARY DISTRICT ELECT`IONS TO BE HELD ON THAT DATE
PURSUAIVT TO§ 10403 OF THE ELEC'I'IONS CODE.
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Ro�ling Hills called a Special Munici.pal Election to
be held on November 7,2017,for tha purpose of submittting to the voters a question relating to whether
ihe provisions added to Chapter 17.2b (View Preservation} of t12e Rolling Hills Municipal Code by
Measure B in March 2013 should be repealed;and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that tkie Special Municipal Election be consolidated with the School
District and Library District Elections to be held on the same date and that witltin the eity tl�e precinets,
polling places and election officers of the three elections be the same, and that the county eIection
�epartment of the County of Los Angeles canvass tt�e returns of the 5pecial Municipal Eiection and that
the election be held in alI zespects as if there were only one election;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CIT'Y COUNCIL OF THE CI'�Y OF ROF,LING HILLS DOES
RESOLVE,DECLARE,DETERMINE AND ORDEIZ AS FOLLOW3:
Section I, That pursuant to the requirements of§ 1U403 of the Elections Code,tt�e Board of
Supervisors of tl�e County of Los Angeles is hereby requasted to consent and agree to the consolidataon
of a Speciai MunicipaI Election with the Schovl District and �,ibrary District Elections an Tuesday,
No�ember 7, 2017, for the pwrpose of the submitting to the voters a question relating to whether the
provisions added to Chapter 17.26(View Preservation)of the Rolfing Hills Municipal Code by Measure
B in March 2013 shouId be repealed.
Section 2. That a question is to appear on the b$]lat as follows:
"Shall an ozdinance be adopted repealing tile March �s

Sectaon 3. T'hat the pmposed complete te�rt of the ordinance snbmitted ta the voters is
attached as�xhibit A.
Section 4. That the cotuzty election department is authorized to canvass the retuxns of the
Special Municipal Election. The election shali be held in all respects as i£there were only one election,
and only one form of ballot shall he used. The election will he held and conducted in accordance wifih
the provisions of law regulating statewide elections.
Section 5. 'That the Board of Supervisors is requested to issue instructions to the county
election department to take any and all steps necessary for the holding of the consolic�ated election.
Section 6. That the City of Rolling Hills recognizes that addit�onal costs will be incurred by
the County by reason of this consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County for any costs.
Section 7. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution
with the Board of Supeirvisors and the county election deparhnent of the County of Los Angeles
Section 8. TL�aE the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and
enter it into the book of original resolutions.

AN OADINANCE OF THE CITY OF ROZ,LING HTT.LS REPEALING
MEASURE B BY AMENDING SUBSECTION (E) OF SECTION
17.26.050 AND REPEALING SECTION 17,26.090 OF THE ROLLING
HILLS MUIVICIPAL CODE
The People of the City of Rolling Hills do orda�in as follaws;
Section f. 5ubsection {E} of Section 17.25.050 of the Rolling Hi�ls Municipal Code is hereby
amended by deleting the following sentence therefrom:
"Such ot'der is not intended to create an uno6structed view for appdicants. Instead it is intended
to create view corridors and a view thraugh trees."
Section 2. Section 17.26.090("Preservation of views defined")is hereUy repealed in its entirety.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the sarne to
be published as required by law.
