REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA
The regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Rolling Hills was held At 7:30 p.m. Monday, 10 June
1957, in the City Hall.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Mayor
Goodman.
ROLL CALL
Present: Councilmen Bullard, Tourtelot and Weitzel
and Mayor Goodman
Absent: Councilman Elliott
Also Present: City Clerk Gilbert Myers, Deputy City Clerk
Phyllis Stockdale, City Attorney William
Kinley, Messrs. Leslie Cunningham, Robert
Boomer and Van Ettinger.

d It was moved by Councilman Tourtelot and seconded by
Councilman Bullard that the minutes be approved as written.
The motion was carried.
COMMUNITY RECREATION AREA
Mayor Goodman brought up the possibility of acquiring
the community recreation area from the Association for a
city park. The City Attorney said that in his opinion
this could be done. After discussion it was agreed to have
a form of conveyance written to grant the fourteen acres
to the City for park purposes, to be limited to residents
of the City of Rolling Hills.
PROVISIONAL BUDGET - JULY 1. 1957 TO JUNE 30. 1958
Mayor Goodman and Councilman Bullard presented to the
Council a.provisional budget, a copy of which is attached to
and made a part of these minutes. Discussion followed and
it was decided to take no action at this time.
ROAD SURVEY
The City Clerk reported that he and Mr. Partridge have
been working on this project and will have it completed by
August 1.
ORDINANCE NO. 8
It was moved by Councilman Tourtelot that the reading
of the proposed ordinance entitled "An Ordinance of the
City of Rolling Hills, California, Prohibiting the Possession
of Firearms and Other Devices by Minors Under the Age of
Sixteen {16} Years" be waived. The motion was seconded by
Councilman Bullard and unanimously carried. Upon motion
made by Councilman Tourtelot and seconded by Councilman
Weitzel, said Ordinance No. 8 was, ori roll call vote by
the City C18>rk, unanimously adopted. Said Ordinance is
s, -,et forth:`in fu.il. in the Book of Ordinances.

WATER CORROSION
Councilman Bullard reported that no action had been
taken in'regard to his letter to the Metropolitan Mater
District.- Suggestions for reducing corrosion were given.
FRANCHISES
Mayor Goodman reported that he had met with repre-
sentatives of the Southern California Gas Company and
that he hoped to have more to report in the near future,
SHERIFFIS PROTECTION
Mayor Goodman reported that the County will submit
a form of contract to provide police protection for the
City of Rolling Hills on the basis of one car -hour per
eight-hour shift for approximately $9,000.00, per year.
COUNTY ROAD DEPARTMENT LETTER
After a discussion this matter was held over until
the next meeting at which time Councilmen Bullard and
Tourtelot have been asked to report to the Council with
recommendations for Council action.
ADJOURNMENT
-There being no further business to come before the
meeting it was moved by Councilman Bullard, seconded
by Councilman Tourtelot, and unanimously carried that
the meeting be adjourned at 9 p.m.
