A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS ADOPTING THE HAZARD MITIGATION
PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Federal Disaster Management Act of 2000 (DMA 2000),
which amended the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Ernergency Services
Act, requires every local, county and state government to have an approved
Hazard Mitigation Plan ("Plan") in order to be eligible for pre-disaster and post-
disaster grants and funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills desires to comply with these
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills is interested in protecting the safety
and welfare of its residents and infrastruciure in the event of a natural disaster,
and;
WHEREAS, the City of Rolling Hills has prepared a Hazard Mitigation
Plan based on the quidelines provided by the California Office Of Emergency
Services.
WHEREAS on January 4, 2019 the City received a letter of approval of the
Hazard Mitigation Plan subject to its adoption by the City Council. This 2018
Hazard Mitigation Plan replaces the Hazard Mitigation Plan approved and
adopted by the City Council in Septeber 2007.
N�W, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills, California,
does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Rolling Hills does hereby
adopt the Hazard Mitigation Plan, establishing goals and objectives to ensure the
health, safety and welfare of its citizens, in the event of a natural disaster and
authorize the City Manager to amend and update the Plan as required.
Section 2. Adoption by the City Council demonstrates their
commitment to the hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the
Plan.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall forward it to the State of California Office of Emergency
Services, together with the adopted Hazard Mitigation Plan, attached hereto as
Attachment A.
