ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA April 20, 1982 An adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called to order at the Administration Building, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills, California by Mayor pro tem Pernell at 7:30 PM Tuesday, April 20, 1982. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Councilmembers Crocker, Pernell, Swanson Councilman Heinsheimer, Mayor Rose Teena Clifton City Manager June Cunningham Deputy City Clerk Cindy Meyer Palos Verdes Peninsula News Mrs. M. Crocker Resident Dr. & Mrs. N. Donner Residents Kenneth Leeuwenburgh family and guests Harold Murdock family and guests CANVASS OF ELECTION 1616 The City Clerk announced the results of the Municipal Election on April 13,•1982 as follows: Jody Murdock elected by 498 votes; Gordana Swanson elected'by 364 votes and Ginny Leeuwenburgh elected.by'334 votes, all offices for a full term of four years on the City Council. 'PRESENTATION OF GIFT LO COUNCILMAN CROCKER 1642 Mayor pro tem Pernell said that Mayor Rose and Councilman Heins heimer were out of town, and on behalf of the Council he wished to thank Councilman Crocker for eight years of devoted service to the City as a member of the City Council. 'He presented a gift to Councilman Crocker and said that..through his eight years on the Council.he had left an imprint on the City. Councilman Crocker said it had been his pleasure to serve, and he thanked the Council for the pen and pencil set presented to him. RESOLUTION NO. 487 1645 Councilman Crocker moved that Resolution No. 487 entitled A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 13TH DAY OF APRIL., 1982, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW be adopted, and that reading in full be waived. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Swanson and carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Crocker, Pernell, Swanson NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Heinsheimer, Mayor Rose ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE AND SEATING OF NEW COUNCIL MEMBERS The meeting was turned over to the oath of office to newly elected then seated at the Council table. REORGANIZATION OF COUNCIL 1710 the.City Clerk, who administered members of the Council, who were The City Clerk opened nominations for Mayor. Councilwoman Swanson moved that Councilman Pernell be elected Mayor. The motion was seconded by -Councilwoman Murdock and carried unanimously. Mayor Pernell opened nominations for Mayor pro tempore. Council- woman Swanson moved that based on the number of votes cast in the April 20, 1982 election, Councilwoman Murdock be elected Mayor pro tempore. The motion was seconded by Mayor Pernell and carried unanimously. COMMENTS BY C0UNCILWOMAN SWANSON 1740 Councilwoman Swanson said she wished to welcome the new members to the City Council and to express her pleasure with the composition of the present Council, stating that it was her belief that the inter- ests of the Community would be represented.
