An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Rolling Hills was called
to order by Mayor Pernell at 7:32 P.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 1992 in the City Council
Chamber at the City Hall/Administration Building, 2 Portuguese Bend Road, Rolling Hills,
California
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmembers Leeuwenburgh and Murdock; Mayor
Pro Tem Swanson and Mayor Pernell
ABSENT: Councilmember Heinsheimer (Excused)
ALSO PRESENT: Craig R. Nealis, City Manager
Lola Ungar, Principal Planner
NEW BUSINESS
RESOLUTION NO. 675: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ROLLING HILLS, CALIFORNIA RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON APRIL 14, 1992, DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH
OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
A motion was made by Councilmember Leeuwenburgh to adopt the Resolution and to waive
reading in full, Councilmember Murdock seconded the motion and the motion passed
without objection.
INSTALLATION AND OATH OF OFFICE OF NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS
City Clerk Nealis delivered the Oath of Office to Godfrey Pernell who was elected to the
City Council on April 14, 1992.
COMMENTS FROM NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS
Mayor Pernell provided brief comments on the importance and cooperative spirit of local
government and thanked those in attendance for the opportunity to again serve the City
Council for another four-year term.

CITY COUNCIL REORGANIZATION
Mayor Pernell opened the floor to nominations for the position of Mayor for 1992-1993.
A motion was made by Councilwoman Murdock, which was seconded by Councilwoman
Leeuwenburgh, to nominate Gordana Swanson to serve as Mayor. Hearing no further
nominations, nominations were closed. Hearing no objection and there being no further
nominations, Gordana Swanson was unanimously appointed as Mayor for the City of Rolling
Hills.
Mayor Swanson provided comments to those in attendance highlighting the cooperative
spirit of the City Council and our ability to work together to resolve local issues. Mayor
Swanson introduced Benjamin Swanson, and Hunter Swanson and her husband Dr. Len
Swanson. Additionally, Mayor Swanson introduced Elizabeth Swanson, Dina Zelleke and
Deirdre Daniels. Further, Mayor Swanson introduced Mrs. Alice Nealis and Brian Nealis.
Mayor Swanson opened the floor to nominations for the position of Mayor Pro Tem. A
motion was made by Mayor Swanson, which was seconded by Councilwoman Leeuwenburgh,
to nominate Jody Murdock to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. Hearing no further nominations,
the nominations were closed and Jody Murdock was unanimously appointed as Mayor Pro
Tem for the City of Rolling Hills.
PRESENTATION TO OUTGOING MAYOR
Mayor Swanson provided Councilman Pernell with a plaque from the City Council and a
caricature thanking him for his dedication and hard work for the City of Rolling Hills during
1991/1992.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the City Council, Mayor Swanson adjourned the
meeting at 7:50 P.M. to Monday, April 27, 1992 at 7:30 P.M. Mayor Swanson invited those
in attendance to enjoy the refreshments being served.
